Antenatal Clinic At Ponthir Surgery

Wednesday 9.30 to11.30am
Patients are seen by the midwife at the clinics by appointment and also by the doctors during surgery hours.

Baby Clinic At Ponthir Surgery

Tuesday 1.30 to 3.15pm
The baby clinics are run by Dr Penny Coyle and the health visitor for child developmental checks and immunisations and allow an opportunity to discuss other problems, eg sleeping, feeding and child health worries, with doctor or health visitor.

Asthma Clinic

Monday and Tuesday
This is run by practice nurse Bev in conjunction with the doctors, by appointment only.

Cardiovascular Risk and Diabetic Clinic

Monday and Tuesday
This is run by the practice nurse in conjunction with the doctors, by appointment only.

Blood Pressure Clinic

Thursday
This clinic is run by Debbie Gwilliam.

Family Planning

Contraceptive care is provided by the nurses during surgery hours.

Minor Surgery

Dr Diggle carries out minor surgical procedures at Cadoc House surgery by appointment and the doctors will be happy to advise you on this.

Non-NHS Examinations

The doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licence, by appointment outside surgery hours. Please contact Sally Allen at the surgery for an appointment. Reception can advise you on the charges for these services.

Counselling

A counsellor is available on Tuesdays, after referral from the doctor.

Travel Immunisations/Vaccinations

Please make an appointment at least six weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges is held at reception. When arranging an appointment please collect a pre-travel questionnaire to be completed and returned before your appointment.

Flu Vaccination

An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for the elderly and patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in October for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit will be arranged to undertake this facility.
