Antenatal Clinic at Cadoc House Surgery
Wednesday 9.30 to 11.30am
Patients are seen by midwife Wendy Watson at the clinics by appointment and also by the
doctors during surgery hours.
Baby Clinic at Ponthir Surgery
Tuesday 2.00 to 4.00pm
The baby clinics are run by Dr Penny Coyle and the health visitor for child developmental
checks and immunisations and allow an opportunity to discuss other problems, eg
sleeping, feeding and child health worries, with doctor or health visitor.
Asthma Clinic
Monday and Wednesday afternoons
This is run by practice nurse Bev Bright in conjunction with the doctors, by appointment
only.
Diabetic Clinic
Monday morning
This is run by practice nurse Sue Clark in conjunction with the doctors, by appointment
only.
Cardiovascular Risk Clinic
Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning
This is run by practice nurse Sue Clark in conjunction with the doctors, by appointment only.
Blood Pressure Clinic
Tuesday morning
This clinic is run by practice nurse Debbie Gwilliam in conjunction with the doctors by appointment only.
Family Planning
We provide an extensive contraceptive service offering advice and a wide range of options for contraception care. The practice offers oral contraceptives, implants, depot provera injections, copper iud's and mirenas (formally known as coils). If you require further information please book an appointment with a female GP.
Minor Surgery
Dr Diggle and Dr Gwynne carry out minor surgical
procedures at Cadoc House surgery by appointment and the doctors will be happy
to advise you on this.
Wound Dressing Clinic
This is run by a practice nurse in conjunction with the doctors. Appointments are available via a referral from a clinician.
Minor Illness Clinic
Tuesday and Friday mornings
This is run by practice nurse Bev Wright who provides treatment for conditions such as chest infections, urine infection, sore throats etc.
Non-NHS Examinations
The doctors are happy to carry out
medicals, eg insurance and driving licence, by appointment outside surgery hours.
Please contact Mrs Sally Allen at the surgery for an appointment. Reception can also advise you on the
charges for these services.
Counselling
A counsellor is available on Tuesdays,
after referral from the doctor.
Travel Immunisations/Vaccinations
Monday afternoon and Thursday morning
This is run by practice nurses Bev Bright and Debbie Gwilliam by appointment only. Please make an appointment at least six weeks before your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A fee will be charged for vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. You will need to collect a pre-travel questionnaire to be completed and returned with the appropriate fee before the appointment can be arranged.
Yellow Fever Vaccinations
The surgery is an authorised Yellow
Fever Vaccination Centre.
Flu Vaccination
An influenza vaccination is particularly
recommended for the elderly and patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes
and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in
October for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you
are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit will be arranged to undertake this
facility.
