We offer routine and emergency on the day appointments. Please only request an emergency on the day appointment if you feel your problem is urgent and cannot wait for a routine appointment.

Routine Appointments

We would encourage patients to set up a My Health Online Account to enable booking routine appointments using the internet. This is easier for you - allowing you to book anytime of day rather than having to call during our opening hours and waiting to get through on busy phonelines. Furthermore you can see all the available appointments on screen at once to enable you to identify the most convenient time for you. It also helps keep our phone lines free for people to call through for emergency on the day appointments and our Doctors to call patients when they need to.

If you do not have internet access, appointments can of course be made by telephoning 01633 423886 for Cadoc House and 01633 423972 for Candwr Brook.

Please note our telephone lines are open from 8.00am to 6.30pm each week day.

Alternatively you may call in person to either surgery, during normal opening hours to make your appointment.

Emergency Appointments

Emergency on the day appointments are to be made by telephone call. The receptionists will ask you for some brief information which is intended to help our Doctors triage you appropriately so that all patients are seen on a timely basis with priority given to those most in need of a Doctors review.

Cancellation of Appointments

If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible. This will enable us to make the appointment available to another patient and assist in managing demand for appointments.

Cancellation of appointments booked online can be done either online, by phone or in person.

Late Arrival for Appointments

If you arrive late for your appointment you may be asked to rebook for another day or wait until the end of the surgery. Our Doctors do everything they can to help patients and we understand there may be unforeseen circumstances. However, we must be fair to other patients waiting and other duties to which the Doctors must attend.

As a patient you do have the right to ask to see a specific practitioner. Where possible we will try to accommodate this request allowing for sickness and holidays.

Texting Service

The practice has the facility to send text messages reminding patients about their appointment. To be included in this service please provide the practice with your mobile number.

DNA Policy

Due to the number of patients failing to attend for their appointment the practice has developed the following policy in order to help protect against wasted appointments and ensure access to others; If you fail to attend appointments without informing us we will write to you asking if there are any specific problems preventing you from letting us know. If you repeatedly fail to attend for appointments you may be asked to register at another practice.

My Health Online (MHOL)

Patients can now register for MHOL Services which will enable you to book appointments and re-order repeat prescriptions online.
